Product DescriptionThis is the story of three women who work together at the Ata Bita Pie Cafe. Even though they're very different, they have one goal in common, true love. When their secrets come to light, they find that love is sometimes better the second time around. From the AuthorI'd made notes about this story years ago, but the characters and setting stayed with me. During ten years as a Child Support Officer, I had nothing creative left when I went home at night. As soon as I retired, I began to write this book. I enjoyed the town of Hannigan's Cove so much, and the people who live there, that I wish I could move to the town and stay forever. From the Back CoverSometimes, life doesn't turn out the way you hope, or expect. For the women who work at the Ata Bita Pie Cafe, in Hannigan's Cove, this old adage is an understatement. But through their friendship and family, they learn that love is sometimes better the second time around. As each character's secrets come to light, their bond helps to heal yesterday's heartache.About the AuthorBonnie fell in love with her Marine when they met at the May Company candy counter. Her journey through life has encompassed many roles, including Senior Secretary of the Space Physics Lab, Marine Corps wife, Idaho farm wife, home school teacher, customer service rep, medical secretary, payroll coordinator, and FBI applicant. She made it through the testing, interviews and background check before deciding on another job, but used the experience in one of her books. Bonnie started writing while living in a 10' x 50' trailer with her husband and five sons as the family built their own house in WA state. She's sold five novels, over sixty-five non-fiction articles, two poems, and Chicken Soup is considering her dachshund cartoons for an upcoming book. Her full-time job is in the field of child support. "Writing makes me feel complete," she says. "It's a good thing I'm Missouri-born and stubborn as a mule, or I wouldn't have persevered. Good things do happen to those who don't know how to give up." Bonnie says she owes a lot to her first critique group, Seannchae, which means "storyteller" in gaelic. Pam, Marilyn, Willo, Norma, Janice, Katie, Barthe, Irene, Bev, and their beloved Jo, all inspired and encouraged. I hope my readers laugh a little, cry a little, and remember my stories.
