Countering terrorist groups is one of the most important military, intelligence, and foreign policy issues in the world today. Over three-quarters of global terrorist organizations claim Islam as their motivation, according to the US State Departments official figures. But they may also provide insights into how modern versions of these movements could be parried-and defeated.
