The author introduces you to her deceased sister in this biography, written frankly and intensely personally. A Long Island bred girl, with only a high school education, meets, in a most unorthodox manner, a French Professor of Romance Languages from Columbia University in New York City and the planets collide. From this unlikely twosome emerges one of the more beautiful love stories of all time.Anyone who has ever been deeply in love will relate to her doubts, her passions, her insecurities, her agony and her ecstasy and to the culmination of her every dream. Anyone who has never known that emotion will acquire a small taste of what that feeling can be from the author's descriptions and from the magnificent letters which recorded a great part of their romance, their courtship and even their marriage. In a reading of The Evolution of Elsie May, we are privileged to share the innermost feelings and most tender moments of these two people. It is the fond hope of the author that through a reading of these pages, the reader's life may be enriched by 'Elsie May" as were the lives of those who knew and loved her in her lifetime.
