Her fiancé is Inspector Jack OBrien who is singled out for special treatment by the extortionist, but through some dogged detective work he manages to break into the extortionists group of accomplices. He does his best to protect Marcia but when the kidnapper strikes again, Marcia decides enough is enough and circumstances force her to hatch a daring plan that will end in either her death - or freedom. About the Author Richard Powell was born in Sydney, Australia and has led a very diverse life. Excelling in door-to-door selling in his younger days he progressed to selling insurance, became a bank manager (mercy please!), became one of Sydney's top residential real estate salesmen and later went on to exclusive boutique real estate sales including thoroughbred horse studs and a tourist island. He is passionate about reading which led him to write about some of his life experiences. His first book 'The Extortionist' is a fun project taken on to prove a point and has been quickly followed by 'Playboy, Lover, Gambler'. Both books are pure fiction although some of the happenings are based on actual events. Richard writes for fun and his books, though mystery thrillers are always spiced with a liberal dose of romance and humor. Richard lives in Sydney with his wife Christine. They love travel, sport, computer games, fine dining and red wine. They have three children and three grandchildren.
