When he announces the momentous news, rumors quickly spread that aliens visited two thousand years ago and perpetrated an incredible deception about the life of Jesus Christ. Whispers of a hoax trigger mass confusion and are magnified by acts of terrorism. Blamed for the chaos and for making a mockery of all that Christian believers hold dear, Collier is dismayed and angered.Collier comes to believe that an attack on a Libyan weapons of mass destruction site will rekindle respect for the United States-and credibility for himself. But the assault results in a toxic cloud that threatens life on Earth. Collier is again assailed by public fury, but soon the cloud mysteriously dissipates. Now acclaimed for his decisive action, he overcomes his political foes and resurrects a spiritual path for himself and those who had wavered from their faith. The Immaculate Deception creatively meshes science fiction with the most controversial issues of today's headlines-terrorism, politics, and religion-resulting in a stunningly provocative story.
