That comedian everybody loves does have another side to his personality! Here he allows you to see into his head as he shares some of his deepest reflections on life in more than fifty poems. He'll take you through the actor's world in poems like "Opening Nights," The Producer," and "The Critic." He'll make you reminisce with "Dear Mom," "Generation Gap," and "Dear Santa Claus." And of course he'll make you laugh with still other poems; he's included plenty of anecdotes for which he's famous. Love, war, prejudice, work, growing up, people, experiences. A cup of coffee, the Constitution, a bumper sticker! Buddy has something to say about nearly everything. Each of his poems expresses unusual insight and a respect for personal individuality. And each, he says, was inspired by a a specific person or event. He's saved them over the years-on scraps of paper and restaurant napkins-and now the whole collection is here in this delightful book. The Naked Mind of Buddy Hackett is a book you'll read many times and find yourself quoting again and again!
