Product Description The Rainbow Crane begins long before I was born. It is a book of memories and stories. Established beliefs that are handed down many generations are prevalent in the South. Sometimes they are not easy to abide by. My mother found herself in such a predicament; yet she followed her heart. All my life, I have had two major obstacles to overcome. I was born illegitimate and at the age of nine months, I was stricken with poliomyelitis. This taboo birth and crippling disease presented life long hardships. Early in life, I found out that the road to success is always an uphill climb. About the Author The author is a 66 year old grandmother and retired teacher. She lives in a small southern town in Arkansas. She enjoys doting on her four grandchildren. Besides the typical legacy of money and possessions, she wants to give them something special. This turns out to be a book of memoirs of her life while growing up in the South when cotton was king. At an early age recovering from poliomyelitis and the corrective surgeries, she discovers that grandmothers and front porches are extremely important. She is a romantic at heart, and this has guided her through-out the years.
