Ida Rolf, a chemical engineer, mathematician and atomic physicist, pioneered a radical view of human physiology and growth that has influenced many scientific fields. Rolf believed and taught that the human body, in alignment with the gravitational field of the earth, meant a body in balance and harmony. Research and speculation posit that Rolfing is an alchemical process of personal growth. Betsy Sise, a master Rolfer, presents Rolf's exciting work on many levels: introduces Rolfing to the beginner; an overview of Rolfing philosophy; a virtual 10-session Rolfing series; direct interviews and extensive comments from teachers who worked directly with Ida Rolf; and the author's own Rolfing odyssey. This wonderful book leaves the reader wanting to experience Rolfing, even if he or she has never heard of the process before.
