Product Description In the charming childrens book, The Stitch Elf by George Collier King, a fourth-grade girl and her skeptical doctor find it difficult to separate fantasy from reality when an elf appears in their lives. Alice Day needed stitches for a hand injury. When she is very anxious about getting them removed, an elf comes to the good doctors assistance, promising Alice rewards for each stitch, and offering to help the doctor with suture removal for all his pediatric patients. The fee for the elf's service seems rather quaint but satisfactory to the doctor. Alices parents are afraid that the doctor is a victim of psychosis, and that their daughter has been caught up in his delusions. Ultimately, reality and fantasy merge with a buoyantly funny happily-ever-after end that children and their parents will love. About the Author George Collier King was graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1964. From 1970 to 2003, he had a private medical practice in Clayton, Ga. and was also a clinical adjunct professor for community medicine at the Mercer University School of Medicine.
