Excerpt from the Foreword: If you seek striped bass, Striper Moon is a book you will certainly enjoy. Most striped bass fishermen use boats to get near their quarry, but Ken does not. Despite being a professional charter-boat captain for years, Ken is happiest when his feet are planted in the sand, the surf is rolling against his waders, and he is throwing his fly into the darkness, in hopes a striper will find his offering. This book is loaded with technical information, yet it is now a pure how-to book. Ken has put his heart, his soul, and his keen fishing mind into this effort. It is very enjoyable reading. But at the same time, the book is filled with information that can only be gained by spending innumerable hours not only fishing for striped bass, but thinking about that. Current has never been mentioned much in books Ive read about fishing stripers in the surf. If you read and absorb what Ken says about how currents affect both bait-fish and the stripers that feed on them, you will catch more fish.
