In August 2008, in the middle years of their lives Francesca Warmley and Philip Kent met on a cold railway station platform in the south of England. What happened over the next six months is Ti. Ti is not a work of fiction. Ti is the heart-breaking unfolding of their relationship told through the texts exchanged between them. Ti is resonant with poetic feeling, spirituality, human foibles, heartache, explicit sexual passion, joy and love. Ti is rich with humour. The story, downloaded from their mobile phones, follows their relationship from that first meeting through six turbulent months to its dramatic climax. The quality and essence of their growing relationship is captured through these texts, which are extremely revealing, interesting and rich with human drama. This is the story of two sensitive people learning how to begin a relationship in middle age and learning how to deal with the challenges of past hurts. It is a story about the potency of sexual discovery. It is a story about being brave enough to open up and have the courage to be vulnerable again. Set against the ever-changing backdrop of family life, Ti charts the struggle to be ourselves and explore our creativities. And, most of all, Ti is about learning how lovely it is to be in love.
