People always stare at my chest and tell me I'm turning inot a young lady. But I don't want to turn into anything--yet. Some kids in our class act as though they can't wait to be teenagers. Some girls even wear green eye shadow to school and pierce their ears. I never want to grow up if that's how you're suppose to act. I'm lucky my best friend Rachel feels the same way.

Annie and her best friend Rachel wish they could stay twelve forever. Everything is perfect...until unexpected changes begin pulling Annie and Rachel apart just when they need each other the most. But through it all Annie and Rachel learn a lot about independence and loyalty--and some good things about turning thirteen.
