Broadman & Holman is pleased to announce the first volume in The Women's Evangelical Library-The Women's Evangelical Commentary: New Testament. Here is a commentary written and edited by women for women. Other commentaries for women take an egalitarian view of the relationship between men and women. The editors and writers of this commentary believe the complementarian view of the relationship between men and women most accurately represents God intent as expressed in Scripture. This view is often caricatured and greatly distorted by both the secular media and some church leaders. The Woman's Evangelical Commentary will enable readers to move beyond those caricatures and see God's marvelous design and plan for men and women. The Holman Christian Standard Bible will be the primary English translation for The Women's Evangelical Commentary. This translation shares with the commentary editors and writers a passion for accurately presenting what the Scriptures say without distortion or augmentation by 21st Century social agendas. In addition to careful interpretation of the text, the Commentary will include extended discussion and application of passages that speak to issues of special concern to women. The Women's Evangelical Commentary will be of great value to the thousands of women who desire personal study of Scripture with the help of Biblical resources. In addition, this comprehensive volume will be an excellent tool for women who teach the Bible both in churches and in weekday Bible studies in ministries like Precept and Bible Study Fellowship.
