Be Sure To Bury Your Dead. "It was now obvious to him that Peter Reuben was an assumed identity, an alias, of his client. It was the only fact that made any sense considering that all of the information given to Jarco was that which belonged to a man who died two years prior, right around the time the deceased took his new position. No wonder none of his references hadn't seen him for some time. Now he not only didn't have a body, he also had no name." A "routine" insurance investigation turns into murder, with no body, no suspect, no clues. Jason Hallor, ex-DC cop and now Private Investigator, teams up with James Jones, a Detroit cop, on a case that takes them from Detroit to Vegas to Atlantic City and DC. Along the way they almost get eaten by dogs, get attacked by strangers and almost lose their jobs. They get confused and wet and in trouble, but manage to pull it off in the end. At least, they seem to.
